I recently read a newsletter that talked about how the best entrepreneurs are great decision-makers. They make a decision and can simply adjust as necessary. They don’t procrastinate on or ignore issues. I agree 100%, but would take it a step further and say… making the decision to and knowing when to WAIT can be powerful. It can seem like you didn’t make a decision at all, but the truth is, you made the toughest decision… to not become anxious and let external factors pressure you into making the wrong decision.
Philippians 4:6 NIV 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Analysis Paralysis or Waiting on God?
When should I take action? When do I need to pause and wait for God to answer? Will God deliver me a clear sign? Is this one of those times where my faith requires action? (Am I now paralyzed analyzing my own analysis paralysis? Please tell me I’m not the only one! Lol!)
What do you do with your business and your commercial property when your head is not “in the game”? I remember seeking advice from as many close friends as possible early in 2021. My heart wasn’t in the business at the time. My head definitely wasn’t.
New Scooters 4 Less was listed for sale at the time of this journal entry, but I was also contemplating selling the commercial property at this time as well. I kept running the various scenarios over and over in my head. I continued to ask Jesus to make it crystal clear…

Jesus,
At last night’s Mastermind group, my friend [name omitted for privacy] was trying to convince me to sell the [commercial] property.
[At the time of this journal entry, the business had been listed for sale through a business broker, but because of the negative direction things seemed to be heading and with me not mentally being “in” New Scooters 4 Less, I was contemplating selling the commercial property as another option.
I love my Mastermind group. If you own a business, I highly recommend being in one (or creating one if you have to). This is a small group of business owners that I pulled together and we’ve been meeting once a month for years now. These are some of my best business friends and having these tight relationships where we can share intimate details about our businesses and knowing that the information shared won’t leave the room is invaluable.]
I still feel like I need to let things play out. What if the business sells? Then, the property is leased and appreciating. I feel like it’s too soon, but I want to be a good steward for you, Jesus, so I’ll wait on direction from you. If you want me to sell this property, then I pray you will make it abundantly clear. Sometimes I feel as I gain clarity, something muddies the water again.
“If it is of the flesh, you will have to force it. If it is of the [Holy] Spirit, it will flow.” - Chuck Swindoll
Have your hand on everything. Let it flow. Guide my heart. Guide my conversations.
Let my time with [friends I was in discussion with about starting a new business (see details in this post)] bring more clarity and direction. I don’t want to look back to this time and say, “I wish I would have sold the property. I wish I would have cashed out. I wish I would have invested the money. I wish I would have taken a well-deserved break, vacation, etc. I wish I would have spent more time with my family.”
[When I read this now, I smile. Even though I still run and operate a retail scooter shop that requires us to be open Monday - Friday, I realize how much freedom I now have and how I’m gaining more every day. My work-life integration has been amazing. My weekends belong to my family and amongst all the trips for travel soccer our boys are involved in, we’ve had lots of spontaneous short trips the past couple of years, plus planned vacations, all paid in cash (I no longer have a personal credit card). I take long holiday breaks that I get to spend with my family, too. Ironically, I thought having a smaller team was going to mean I was going to have to work MORE, but the truth is, I’ve had more freedom and am surrounded by people I really enjoy working with. I’ve got a small but efficient team. The business is profitable and it has been fun planning its future again. And the property? I realized that God had made all the pieces align so perfectly for us to be in that spot in the first place, that God had a plan, even if I wasn’t aware of it yet.]
Jesus- I wait. What direction do you want me to take? Please make it CRYSTAL clear.
Thank you, Jesus. Thank you.
Love you.
Collin
Today’s final thoughts…
Perspective is important. I just listened to the book Atomic Habits by James Clear this week and in it, he discusses changing “I have to” to “I get to.” “I have to deal with this HR problem” turns into “I get to address an HR concern that’s going to grow our company an additional step today.” “I have to workout this morning” becomes “I get to workout this morning and improve my energy, health, and overall life.” “I have to read my Bible today” becomes “I get the opportunity to learn more about and grow closer to my Lord and Savior.” “I have to work at the scooter dealership today” becomes “I get to steward this gift the Lord has put in my hands for HIM.” These are BIG differences and the shift in mindset alone sets the day up for success as opposed to immediate failure.
Ask God for Wisdom and wait on Him. If you have to keep forcing your will on something, it’s time to take a step back and ask “Lord, is this what YOU want?” because maybe you keep hitting roadblock after roadblock for a reason.
James 1:5-8 NIV 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
Have a wonderful week, friends. Thank you for reading! I’d love for you to respond and let me know how I could be praying for you this week!
Best,
Collin
