COVID-19 changed everything about my business. It forced me to be more creative and think outside of the box. The way we normally operated went out the window and we had to become more efficient—learning how to do more with less. It brought me closer to people who were also facing unique challenges in their businesses. Most importantly, it brought me closer to God, creating a complete dependency on Him.
Here is my prayer journal entry from June of 2021…

Jesus,
This morning at Greenhouse Business Leaders was great. I’m so glad [friend and former team member] invited me to this group so many years ago. Hearing [my other friend] talk about my faith, humbling myself, and persevering through [this trial with the business] brought tears to my eyes, but also felt like I had left an impression on some and that’s a good thing. I have really tried to abide by your will. I know this will all be a part of my testimony and the story I will one day share.
When I reflect over the past year or so, I think to myself, “there is no possible reason why we should be in business right now.” We are a business that relies on college students to go to and from college. All classes have been on Zoom. No one needs a scooter during that. How are we still here? YOU. You made a way when there was none. Every time the bank account was about to hit zero, you provided. You came through and I’m so grateful even when I may not express it or [when] I’m feeling “stuck” in NS4L [New Scooters 4 Less]. I trust your plan. I will wait patiently and I will work hard. I’ll continue to lean into your will for my life because I know it’s greater than anything I could imagine for myself.
LORD - Help me be one the most impactful leaders this area has ever seen [this is my selfish desire—to have a positive impact on the lives of others around me]. Help me change lives for the better and change hearts for you.
Thank you for everything. I’m so grateful. I love you.
Collin
Reflecting on this, here’s what I’m reminded of…
Small groups / masterminds / close friends are so incredibly valuable. I miss the Greenhouse Business Leaders group. We were a bunch of local business owners that met every Thursday morning to just share about our businesses, challenges we were facing, gain wisdom from others, pray and just be there for each other. Even though this group no longer meets, I met a lot of incredible people through this group, many of which are still great friends today. Today, I am a member of C12 and it is impacting my life, business, leadership, and relationship with God in amazing ways. Surround yourself with people that will love you, support you, encourage you, and carry your burdens with you.
You have to keep pressing forward no matter what. You have to lean into it even when you don’t want to. There were so many days during this time where I didn’t want to go to the scooter shop. I often felt so defeated, but I just knew it’s where I was supposed to be. I had to keep showing up, working hard, and waiting patiently on the Lord (which is the hardest part for me).
I write this blog because I pray that pieces of my journey will help others in theirs. I write because I hope that one day my kids (or grandkids) will revisit the words of their dad (or grandpa). Interestingly, it probably helps me more than it helps anyone else…
Even this year (2025) hasn’t been that fun (from a business standpoint). It’s been a challenging and deflating year. With that said, I know that the Lord is working and that He has plans for me. He never unveils them as fast as I want Him to (can you relate?!), but when I’m patient and I don’t force my own will and I abide by His, His plans are always better than what I could have imagined for myself. Every part of my life has proved that to be true thus far. So, even in our current challenges, I look forward to what’s next.
So, I’d like to thank me for the reminder, haha :) I’m thankful for this journal entry from 4 years ago.
Thanks for reading!
Collin
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV) “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
