Core Value 7
Core Value 7 at New Scooters 4 Less is to communicate clearly, so let me take a time-out to make sure I do that.
I received a call from my favorite college professor yesterday. Post-graduation, he’s the one that first put me on a stage by asking me to come speak to his class about my businesses/journey and he continues to build me up even all these years later (19 years)!
He had called to tell me that he had read my first prayer journal entry and to NOT pull the equity from my home (I would never do this by the way, but wanted to make a point that many entrepreneurs would do just about anything to save their first baby (their business)). He said my post had kept him up one night, he knew that I had an income/expense problem that I needed to address quickly, he took another former successful student out to lunch to ask him if he would consult with and help me, and as he was explaining all of this I had stop him and explain… “Sir, Sir. No. Wait. That journal entry was from 3 years ago!” I felt so grateful for him and his effort but also felt bad that he had gone through all that for me! I felt like maybe I hadn’t clearly expressed what I was doing with this blog.
So... let me take a quick minute to say… I’m ok! I’m better than ok. I’m great! I’m grateful. I’m healthy... physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. My family is too! I’m full of peace, joy, and so much love for God, family, my team, friends and those I don’t even know.
I don’t want to necessarily “spoil the ending” for you, lol, but today we sit DEBT-FREE, personally and professionally, except for our home mortgage, commercial mortgage, and inventory (scooters) credit line. I’m excited to gradually publish my prayer journal that shares many aspects of my life (finances being a huge part of it) so you can see how it all unfolds!
As you’re reading, definitely pay attention to the dates of the journal entries and I will continue to do what I can to bring more context as I’m writing this blog!
P.S. Thank you professor for believing in me and for being there for me!
More coming soon…
